How do I know which FEMA number to select?

There can be several federally declared disasters listed in the pop-up box. To find the one that applies to you, read through the affected counties list shown in the pop-up.

To accommodate for the limited space in the list, we have created an Affected Localities Details section. Simply click on the radio button to the left of the FEMA number to display the complete list of counties in the Details section.

Under rare circumstances, the county that you live/work may be listed under more than one FEMA number. To make certain you are selecting the correct FEMA number, you can follow the hyperlink provided to the FEMA website.

The FEMA website provides additional information on the disaster to assist you. Once you have determined which FEMA number is correct, return to this website to finish your application for benefits. Please read on for the reason why.
