Check Not Issued

This page gives you detailed information about why a deduction has been made from the maximum benefit amount for a week for which you claimed benefits.

(1)   If you reported working and earning wages in the week, your weekly benefit is        reduced. This is listed as EARNINGS REDUCTION.

(2)   FEDERAL TAX WITHHELD is the withholding of federal tax at your request.

(3)   If you have an overpayment, your benefits are reduced until that        overpayment is repaid. We will withhold benefits otherwise due to APPLY TO        INDIANA OVERPAYMENT.

(4)   Under the interstate agreement and upon request from another state, we will        also reduce your benefits in order to collect an OUT OF STATE OVERPAYMENT.

(5)   Benefits can be reduced if you are receiving a pension that was based upon        work performed for an employer who is also paying your unemployment        benefits. That amount is identified as PENSION REDUCTION.

(6)   If you have an order to pay child support, the amount of the child support is        deducted from benefits otherwise payable.  It is identified as CHILD SUPPORT.

Any disagreement about that order or the amount of the deduction must be        made to the agency which ordered you to pay the child support.

(7)   You may have received a determination which found that you were not able to        work or available for work during this week. A benefit reduction can apply in        this case and is displayed as NOT AVAILABLE FOR WORK REDUCTION.

(8)   There are other reasons benefits may be reduced which are established by a        legal Determination.  A common example would be receiving vacation pay or        holiday pay. You will have received a copy of that Determination.

You can see an image of that Determination by clicking on DETERMINATION. This page gives you detailed information about why a check is not issued. If you see a link to PROVIDE NEEDED INFORMATION, clicking on that link will take you to questions which you need to answer before we can determine your eligibility for benefits. We can not determine your eligibility and your check will not be issued until we have that information so provide the information as soon as possible.
